Lavender was used in WWII as an antiseptic for dressing wounds and parasite resistance. It warded off diphtheria, typhoid, colds, flus, strep, staph, pneumonia and other flu viruses. 
 
Now, it is used for lifting the mood in all sorts of ways: candles, essential oil diffusers, teas, bath salts, yoni steams, eye pillows, rice bags and tinctures. If I could only choose one item while traveling, I would pack lavender because it aids stress, headaches, digestion and is a potent antiseptic.
