Pre-order our new tea blend: ships the week of May 1, 2026!
Chaga Chai is a blend of chaga mushroom with chai spices. It is not caffeinated though can be energizing given the properties of chaga.
Chaga has been researched for its cancer fighting properties. It must be simmered for several hours to release its full benefits.
The best way to prepare chaga chai is in a crock pot or low heat burner all day long. In the winter, I leave a pot of chaga chai on my wood stove and scoop it into my mug as needed. Serve with a drop of milk and maple syrup for a Chaga Chai Latte.
Chaga Chai Tea
Ingredients & Directions
Ingredients: chaga mushroom (ethically foraged by Sweet Birch Herbals), ginger, cinnamon, star anise, cardamom, black pepper, coriander seed, cloves, allspice. All organic ingredients.
Directions: combine 2 heaping spoonfuls to 2 quarts of water in a pot or crock pot. Bring to a boil and then turn down to simmer on low for 4-8 hours. Strain into a mug, add milk and maple syrup to taste if you wish. Reuse the chai blend at least 4-8 times until the color of the tea is weak, as chaga mushroom can continue to give benefits for several uses.
*Chaga is best to drink for a few weeks at a time, then pause for a few weeks because it has a strong antibacterial affect and can deplete good bacteria in the gut if used for more than a month every day straight.
* All our chaga is harvested ethically and responsibly by Hannah Morano, founder of Sweet Birch Herbals. We do not buy in chaga for this small batch tea.
